Need to know how to make some money on your spare time at home during quarantine? Well, looks like I'll be giving you just that! Here are 5 great side hustles to make money in your spare time without having to leave the comfort of your own home.

During quarantine, there is only the option of online work or having to risk your health by leaving to work amidst the coronavirus pandemic. It definitely is a hard time, especially with families. So here are 5 great ways to make money on your extra time.

  1. Surveys

There are so many great survey platforms that allow you to make some extra cash. I think this such a smart idea. You get cash for your opinion. They are mostly for market research. By answering the surveys, you will get some cents or maybe more, depending on the site. Even though it may seem little, it only take patience and time for those little cents to increase. Many people have earned a lot from answering surveys in just a month. Although you don't wanna quit your job, it can get you some extra cash. Here are some survey sites:

Survey Junkie

It barely takes a few minutes to sign up for free on Survey Junkie. Information that is required to create an account include: zip code, country living in, birthday, gender, First and Last name. You answer different profile questions and surveys about really anything.

How it Works

Based on how long you spent on a survey, you earn points and those points are equivalent to one cent, so 100 points equal one dollar. You would need $10 (1,000 points) to cash out. To cash out you go to your page where your points are and choose the form of payment you want. You can use Paypal or even gift cards. You add your email address and click "Yes".

Swagbucks

Swagbucks is another great survey platform where you can earn up to $35 per survey and they do give a signup bonus of $5. Swagbucks not only have surveys but also easy tasks that may include watching videos and searching the web to earn swagbucks. It is not a scam and is easy for teens and anyone else. They have paid hundreds of thousands to people through their platform.

How it Works

You complete tasks and surveys to earn swagbucks which convert to money. You can redeem your points by Paypal or gift cards. Just like Survey Junkie, Swagbucks uses the point system. $1 is equivalent to 100 swagbucks and redeem for gift cards of that number or cash out $25 (2,500 SB's).

MyPoints

MyPoints is another great survey platform for some extra cash. By answering surveys and other activities, you an earn cash and gift cards. The points that you earn can be taken out at the time you want in Paypal or as a gift card. Joining is free and you get a $10 bonus.

How it Works

You answer surveys, read emails, shop, and more to get cash. It is legit, but you do need around $25 worth of money which is about 4,000 points. For gift cards, 700 points is needed for a $5 gift card.

2. Scan Receipts for Gift Cards

An app called Fetch allows you to scan your old receipts and turn them into rewards. All you have to do is scan a receipt from any store and they will send points to your account. These points will then be able to be redeemed for hundreds of rewards. You can get so many gift cards form this app. This app basically turns your receipts into savings. Not only gift cards but rewards from online retailers. Pretty cool!

3. Selling Old Things

Selling things you no longer need is a great way to make money and it's a good cleanup for home. Amazon, Decluttr, and Letgo are only examples of some of the great apps to sell your old stuff for some money. Instead of throwing away old things, you can make money with it.

4. Teaching English

If you speak English, teaching it can get you some good money. A specific website called: VIPKid is a platform that teaches English to children. You can earn 2,000 a month just by teaching English online for 3-5 hours a day. You just have the meet the basic requirements and learn the way to teach and you are all set. You get to work from home at your time and earn good money. Hourly rates are between $15 and $20 per hour. Just an hour and a half of teaching everyday can earn you more than $500 a month. The bad part is that you need to have experience of teaching and a Bachelor's degree. You can also join a great website similar but easier to handle: Upwork.

5. Sell photography

Selling photography is a great way to earn money. If you can take quality photos, you can get some extra cash by selling them. Some platforms like Foap and Adobe Stock are good places to sell your photos. The photos just have to be accepted and you can get a small amount of money. Eventually these small amounts can grow and is good for earning extra money. Other platforms include: Getty Images, Shutterstock, iStock, and FreeDigitalPhotos.net
